Compostable Kraft Hot Cups
Pure Compostables manufactures kraft hot cups for cafés, restaurants, and B2B coffee programs. Material formulations are built around plant-based kraft paper, PLA, and paper. Stocked sizes include 4 oz, 8 oz, 16 oz, and 12 oz.
What sets our kraft hot cups apart
- True PLA lining (no PE). Hot drinks stay leak-free for hours, but the entire cup composts as a single unit — no mixed-material headache for the consumer.
- Hot-drink rated to 85°C. Coffee, tea, and hot chocolate hold without softening or warping.
- Lid compatibility tested. Cup rims match standard 8/10/12/16/20/22 oz lid bases, including our PLA-lid range.
- Sustainable kraft + tree-free options. FSC-certified kraft and tree-free pulp options for brands that want to telegraph the material story.

Certifications and compliance
Compostability claims are backed by certification from BPI, TUV Austria, DIN CERTCO, and (where applicable) ABA for Australia and New Zealand. We test against ASTM D6400 — 90% biodegradation in 180 days, full disintegration in 84 days, ecotoxicity, and heavy-metal limits — before any SKU ships. Our team holds the certificates internally and can supply documentation on request.

OEM, private label, and bulk orders
Our OEM and ODM workflow runs in parallel to stock SKU sales. You send vector artwork (PDF/AI) at print resolution; we return a digital proof for sign-off. For flexo runs, a physical match-print proof goes out before plates are committed. Lead time is typically 4–6 weeks from final artwork approval through production. We document spec sheets, certificates of analysis, and chain-of-custody for compliance.
Frequently asked questions
Are these cups PLA-lined or PE-lined?
Always PLA-lined. No PE. The lining and the paperboard both compost in industrial facilities — no mixed-material disposal.
Can I microwave them?
No — PLA softens above ~110°F. For microwave-safe foodservice items, see our fiber bowls range.
